Welcome to my blog.

Think about this blogi as an old wooden filing cabinet holding thoughts, ideas and mementos of my life. You get the opportunity to pull open a drawer and peak in. . . it’s really a jumbled mess of stuff.

Here you will find recipes found written in my grandma’s kitchen cabinet doors, ancient penmanship scribbled by my great grandma on old envelopes, notes stuffed in apron pockets, faded pictures of a time past and the like. You will also find a thought or two on faith and how I see it in just the ordinary, every day moments of life. For those of you raising kids, you might find some encouragement or ideas here, too. I have three boys. Almost grown. So I’ve been around. And, yeah, I’m still learning.

Truth be told, once a number of years ago my grandma let me take a bag of old papers containing recipes home with me. I had copied many from her old school cookbook but had more to go. . . and so I left her comfortable yellow house with the prized recipes. Then they got shoved in a box and made their way to the back of a closet. Where they sat waiting for that beautiful recipe book to appear that would be handed out at Christmas to all present. But my dreams never match reality and so it hasn’t happened and the relatives I have heard are getting quite anxious for these recipes to appear. And that is really why this blog exists.
