Grandma Hull’s Pie Crust

Grandma Hull’s pie crust is a tradition in our family. If you have a slice of pie made from this- you will understand why.

This recipe comes directly from a little notebook Grandma Hull carried with her when she was cooking in a nursing home in Washington.

Pie Crust

Ingredients: 2 cups flour, 1 cup shortening, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/3 cup sweet milk, 2 teasp. vinegar

2 teasp. vinegar added to milk.

Blend flour with (actually she used the medical symbol for “with”) shortening until resembling corn meal.

Add milk and vinegar little at a time.

Very good.
