Cream of Tomato Soup

From Grandma’s school cookbook:

Cream of Tomato Soup

1 can tomatoes or juice

2 1/2 T butter

2T 2t flour

1/2 t salt

white pepper to taste

2 c milk

1/8 t soda

Simmer tomatoes and press through a sieve. make a white sauce of other ingredients. Add the hot tomato pulp to the white sauce. Season to taste. serve immediately after combining.photo(22)
